History and Development

St. George Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Anapettakonkal in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of  Punalur.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1987. This Parish was established on 1987 at the time of Rev. Fr. John Areekkal.  It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The new church was built by Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese Vattaparambil and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. In 2012 it celebrated the Silver Jubilee and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
