The Liturgical Commission fosters and safeguards the regulation of the administration of the sacraments, especially regarding their valid and licit celebration. It is the competence of the Synodal Commission for Liturgy to promote and regulate the sacred liturgy, primarily of the sacraments.
“By effective and suitable means, the Commission promotes liturgical pastoral activity, especially the celebration of the Eucharist; it gives support to the Eparchial bishops so that the Christian faithful may share more and more actively in the sacred liturgy.
The commission is authorized for the drawing up and revision of liturgical texts and prepares lectionary for the Holy Qurbono and Divine Hours. It grants recognition to translations of liturgical books lawfully prepared and fosters commissions or institutes for promoting the liturgical apostolate or sacred music, songs, or art.
