Synodal Commission for Social Apostolate and Dalit Christians

The Synodal Commission for Social Apostolate and Dalit Christians shows the solicitude of the Church for the needy, in order that human fraternity may be fostered and that the charity of Christ be manifested.

The main function of the Commission is to stimulate the Christian faithful as participants in the mission of the Church, to give witness to evangelical charity, and to support them in this concern.

It fosters and coordinates the activities of eparchies and religious institutes and other organizations that labor to help the poor people in need and co-operates with other national and international charitable and non-governmental organizations operating in the same field.

The pastoral care of the Dalit Christians is of great solicitude for the Malankara Catholic Church. The holistic development of this community is of special concern to the Synodal Commission. It endeavors to restore all their rights that are due to the government. Through appropriate reservation policies job opportunities in the institutions of the Church are reserved for this community.
