Synodal Commission for the Religious

The Synodal Commission for the Religious promotes and supervises the practice of ascetic life and its various forms in the Malankara Catholic Church. The Commission undertakes the study on the suitability of the erection of a particular form of religious life before their canonical erection by the eparchial bishops and the Major Archbishop-Catholicos. It studies the typical constitution or statutes of institutes of ascetic life before the competent authority approves.

The conferences of major superiors and the associations of the religious can be promoted and supervised. It coordinates the pastoral activities of the various institutes engaged in the pastoral ministry of the Church and also promotes institutions that would serve the common theological and philosophical and missiological formation of the religious.
