History and Development

St.Thomas Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Koliyakode in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kazhakoottam. The First community of this Parish was formed in 1960. This Parish was established in 1960 and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. Rt. Rev. Lawrence Thottam was the First Vicar. The church was renovated during the time of Rev.Fr.John Vilayil and was blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis on 8^th December 2008. A new Grotto of St.Mary was built on 16 th January 2013 and blessed by Samuel Mar Irenios the Auxiliary Bishop of Trivandrm.
