History and Development

St. Joseph’s  Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kura (Malayil) in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Kottarakkara.The first community of this parish was formed in 1980 by the mission work of Rev. Fr. Jacob Kizhakkumkara and  was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The church was renovated by Rev. Fr. Mathew Charuvukalayil in 1997 and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Cyril Baselios Catholicos.
