History and Development

St. Peter & Paul Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Barton Hill in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Trivandrum. The first community of this parish was formed in 1959 by Late Lawrence Mar Ephream. It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. During the tenure of Rev. Fr. Thomas Kariyil new church was constructed and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios.
