History and Development

St. Thomas Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Vithura in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Nedumangadu.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1971. This Parish was established and was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1973. Rev. Fr. Mathai Malancharuvil was the first vicar.  The church was renovated and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1984.  The present church was renovated and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis in 2016.
