History and Development

St. Xavier’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Pathanapuram in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Punalur.The first community of this parish was formed in 1957 and was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The 71^st Re-Union Day celebration was here in 2001. The church was renovated by Rev. Fr. Wilson Charuvila in 2012 and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
