History and Development

St.Thomas Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Vayala in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Anchal. The First community of this Parish was formed in 1978. This Parish was established in 1978 and blessed by  Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. Rev. Fr.Ninan Tharakan was the First Vicar. A new church was built by Fr.John Thenguvila and blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios on 7^th August 1982.  In 1988, a new Grotto was built by Rev.Fr. Augstin Mangalathu. A Grotto was built during the time of Rev.Fr.Thomson Pazhayachirapadikayil and blessed by Blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis in 2015.
