History and Development

St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Valakom in the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum belongs to the Ecclesiastical district of Ayoor.  The first community of this parish was formed in 1945.This Parish was established on November 24, 1949 during the time of Cheppattu Philipose Remban. It was blessed by Late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios in 1960. In 1995 it celebrated the Golden Jubilee. The church was rebuilt during the time of Rev. Fr.  Johnson Puthuparampil in 2017, October and blessed by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis.
